We’re seeking new members for our Executive Committee!
We are looking for two enthusiastic volunteers to fill upcoming vacancies on our Executive: Treasurer and Member-at-Large, Communications/Awards! The Executive meets via Zoom once a month (except July and August) on a Friday morning, so anyone in the province can be part of the team. Both are rewarding positions that offer key support to the CNSA and our members!
CNSA Treasurer
In addition to attending monthly Executive meetings, the Treasurer oversees the CNSA’s finances. The term for this position is 3 years, and responsibilities include:
- Reporting on finances to the Executive, membership, and funders.
- Coordinating with the Bookkeeper to generate monthly and annual financial reports.
- Assisting in budgeting and allocating funds.
- Approving payments and signing cheques.
- Arranging for our yearly financial review by a CPA.
Membership in the CNSA (individual or an employee/volunteer of a member institution) is a requirement; experience managing budgets and finances within your own organization would also be an asset.
The Executive meets virtually once a month, so this is a great opportunity for a CNSA member from anywhere in the province to participate! We also have a yearly AGM, which is usually a hybrid meeting. If you decide to join us in-person for that meeting or any Executive meeting, we will reimburse your travel costs.
The good news is that we have a bookkeeper to assist in this position, as well as a lot of support from the rest of our Executive and our full-time Archives Advisor, Sharon Murray. All of us are excited to help with onboarding and assisting our new Treasurer!
