Preservation Committee

Role and Purpose

The Preservation Committee plans and oversees preservation activities for the CNSA, based on the principles of preservation management, and monitors current preservation issues. The Committee Chair sits on the Awards Committee to adjudicate nominations for the Doug Kirby Award for excellence in the area of preservation.

Responsibilities

The Preservation Committee oversees all of the CNSA's Preservation Services and Disaster Recovery Resources.

Membership

The Preservation Committee is made up of 4-6 volunteer CNSA members plus the CNSA Archives Advisor (ex-officio member). The committee appoints a Chair or Co-Chairs who is/are responsible for scheduling committee meetings; keeping the committee on track, schedule, and budget; and liaising with the Executive Committee.

Meetings

The Preservation Committee typically meets 4-6 times per year.
