Documentary Heritage Communities Program (DHCP) 2017-18 funding cycle open now

The Documentary Heritage Communities Program 2017-2018 – Call Letter for Library and Archives Canada’s Contributions Program
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2017–2018 funding cycle for the Documentary Heritage Communities Program (DHCP). This contribution program increases the ability of local documentary heritage institutions to sustain and preserve Canada’s documentary heritage.
The contributions support the development of Canada’s local archival and library communities and their professional associations by increasing their capacity to preserve, provide access to and promote documentary heritage. Contributions also provide opportunities for local documentary heritage communities to evolve and remain sustainable. Since 2015–2016, LAC has awarded $3 million in support to 103 projects across Canada.

LAC invites all eligible organizations to apply at their earliest convenience. The deadline for the 2017–2018 funding cycle is January 27, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).
Please note that the Guidelines, Application Form and Budget Form have been updated for the 2017–2018 funding cycle. All information on the DHCP, including eligibility criteria for organizations and initiatives, can be found on LAC’s website at: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/…/documenta…/Pages/dhcp-portal.aspx
Please direct any questions to LAC at (819) 997-0893 or 1-844-757-8035 or via email at bac.contributions@canada.ca prior to submitting an application for funding under the DHCP.

“I invite the communities to imagine new and innovative proposals for the third funding cycle so that the Documentary Heritage Communities Program ensures the growth of dynamic local archival and library communities across the country.”
– Dr. Guy Berthiaume, Librarian and Archivist of Canada
