Libraries, Archives & Museums Nova Scotia (LAMNS) is pleased to announce its second cross-sectional conference, which will take place online from October 21-23, 2021.

LAMNS is a collaborative network comprised of the Association of Nova Scotia Museums, the Council of Nova Scotia Archives, Council of Regional Libraries, Novanet, Nova Scotia Archives, Nova Scotia Provincial Library, and the Nova Scotia Museum. LAMNS’ last joint Conference, held in Halifax in 2015, was an historic event that brought the partners together for the first time.

“Moving Forward Together” will also be a historic event – LAMNS’ first virtual Conference!  For three days, employees and volunteers from libraries, archives, and museums across Nova Scotia will come together to learn from each other and share their experiences of serving the public during a pandemic. The Conference panels, presentations, and keynote events will highlight the resilience of our sectors and the use of collaboration and innovation to meet the challenges we face. This has been a year of expedited growth and change, a year of strength and resiliency, and community collaboration from a distance. Let’s celebrate our sectors – together!

Session topics include:

• Shifting to the virtual (digitization, programming, community outreach etc.)
• Issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Truth and reconciliation, issues of Indigenization
• Community focused practices, community partnerships
• Serving underserved communities
• Accessibility
• Changing demographics in Nova Scotia
• Policy shifts
• How has the COVID-19 changed the work we do?

ANSM, CNSA, and NSLA members are all eligible for the member rates:

$65 – members employed full-time (30+ hr/wk)
$35 – members employed part-time (29 hr/wk or fewer)
$15 – members who are seasonal/unemployed/retired

Non-member rates:

$90 – non-members
$15 – Students

Registration must be completed online via the link above. Payment can be made online with a credit card OR you can mail a cheque made out to the Association of Nova Scotia Museums (the conference money managers):
