Introduction to Archives

General description:

This workshop will explain the different types of archives and introduce participants to the basic archival functions of acquisition, accessioning, appraisal, arrangement, description and reference. Participants will gain familiarity with the concepts and be able to practice their application in an archival situation.

This workshop is part of the CNSA Archival Certificate Program.

Learning Method:

Learning is done through a combination of lecture, personal reading, and practical exercises over a 2-day period in an informal, friendly atmosphere.

Prior knowledge required: None
