| 9:15 - 10:30 am | Keynote Address: Archives and Public School Education Jennifer Burke, Social Studies Consultant, NS Department of Education A session with the Social Studies Consultant with the Nova Scotia Department of Education about linking curriculum to archives across the province. The aim of the discussion is to highlight primary resources in the public school curriculum and underscore how archives can assist in this process. |

| 11:00 - 12:00noon | Web 2.0 -- Development, Demographics and Defining It Anatoliy Gruzd, Director, Social Media Lab, Dalhousie University This session looks at current research on this emerging field from the Director of the Social Media Lab at Dalhousie University. Where did Web 2.0 come from? Who is using it and why? What are the latest developments and expectations of users? What are the benefits and the challenges? What are the current trends that the archival community needs to address? |

| 1:45 - 2:45 pm | Reaching Out -- Social Media Opportunities Lauren Oostveen, Nova Scotia Archives and Jessica Goreham-Penney, Shearwater Aviation Museum This practical panel session looks at how archives across Nova Scotia can reach out to new audiences. It will answer the questions - “How do I make my archives more accessible in the virtual world? How do I reach a specific student audience or similar demographic of interest? |

| 3:00 - 4:00 pm | Members Hall Session Conference Attendees Last year's CNSA Award winners will give brief presentations on their winning projects: Kathleen MacKenzie, University Archivist of St. Francis Xavier University Archives on its digitization project and website Masters of Their Own Destiny: the Coady Story in Canada and Across the World and Carolyn Gimian and others from the Shambhala Archives on their Audio Recovery Project. As well, we'll hear from Aimee Brown of Anna Leonowens Gallery about her experience combining historical research and blogging in her Gatekeeper’s Lodge blog. |

| 9:15 - 10:30 am | Keynote Address: The Provincial Heritage Strategy: Where does the CNSA fit? Bill Greenlaw, Executive Director, Heritage Division This address will offer a discussion about the development and implementation of this new strategy. The Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Museum will also offer his thoughts on the newly minted Communities, Culture and Heritage Department. He will talk about this new paradigm and what the renewed vision will be going forward. |

Denise Green, Campaign Director, United Way of Halifax This session led by the Campaign Director of the United Way of Halifax Region will answer questions including: How do I get my community or user audience more engaged? How do I create sustainable volunteerism? How do I make my day to day operations more viable? What other funding opportunities exist that I may not know about? |

| 1:45 - 3:00 pm | Bridging the Gaps...with Our Sister Community Karin Kierstead, Association of Nova Scotia Museums Karin will address similarities and differences between the approaches of the museum and archival communities. She will offer different perspectives and suggestions that will speak to current social media developments and other challenges our communities currently face. |
