Archival
Community Digitization Program (ACDP) 
- Program up for review by Department of Canadian Heritage. Check website
for announcement concerning 2009-10 funding year.
- Project funding to Canadian archival organizations for digitization
projects of archival records.
- Can request up to $50,000.
- Applicant must provide 50% match for funds requested; can be cash
or in-kind.
- Projects must propose the development of unique, digitized online
cultural content, available free of charge via the Internet.
- Latest deadline: May 20, 2008.
- Applications must be submitted by email or by cd-rom.
- Priority given to projects for youth.
- Applicant must hold copyrights to material being digitized.

Associated Medical
Services 
- Provides funding for projects related to medical history or medical
archives
- Grants are generally awarded in the range of $2,000 - $8,000 for one
year, normally commencing July 1
- Funding is available for the direct operating costs of the approved
project.
- This program will cease in 2011.
Building
Communities Through Arts & Heritage (BCAH) 
- Project funding for existing local arts & heritage festivals or
local historical 100th+ anniversaries.
- Open to local non-profit incorporated organizations, unincorporated
groups, & band councils.
- Designed "...to increase opportunities for local artists &
artisans to be involved in their community and for local groups to commemorate
local history and heritage." (Canadian Heritage website, accessed
10 October 2008)
- Can request up to $200,000 per project; no cash match required.
- Eligible projects must have community support, be open to general
public, and have confirmed support (cash or in-kind) from municipal
government.
- For festivals, eligible projects must be a recurring event, last more
than 1 day but less than 29 days, and present significant local heritage.
- For anniversary celebrations, eligible projects must present aspects
of local heritage, be a 100th, 125th, 150th, 175th, etc. anniversary,
and last at least 1 day.
- New guidelines and application forms published in 2008.
- 2 deadlines: April 1 for events held between Sep 1 of same year &
Mar 31 of next year; Sep 1 for events held between April 1 to Aug 31
of next year.

CHIN
Virtual Exhibits Investment Program 
- Open to CHIN
member museums
.
- For digitizing artifacts in museum collections or developing on-line
interpretive tools (thus may include archival content).
- Digitized material must be made available and remain on-line for 5
years.
Cultural
Spaces Canada Program 
- Program expires March 31, 2010.
- Funding for renovation or building new archival buildings (up to 33%).
- Specialized equipement purchases or feasibility studies (up to 50%).
- There is no deadline for applications.
- Final report is required.
EMC
Corporation's Heritage Trust Project 
- Established in 2007.
- Funding for digitization of records and/or artifacts.
- Can request up to $15,000.
- No match required.
- Applications from all countries will be considered equally.
- Open to any local organization (public or private) with responsibility
to preserve information.
- Preference given to projects providing free access to historical records
via Internet.
- Download applications and instructions from their website.
- Applications reviewed by committee from University of North Carolina.
- Deadline: November 30, 2008
- Awardees notified in May 2009

Canada's Clearinghouse of Foundations 
- A list of addresses of foundations which support heritage activities.
Hudson's
Bay Company Local History Grant Program 
- Established in 2007
- Applicants involved in history and heritage commemoration.
- Projects that promote greater public awareness of Canadian history,
particularly among young poeple.
- Projects up to $1,000 available annually.
- Projects must be completed within current calendar year.
- Final report is required.

Young
Canada Works 
- Program up for review by Department of Canadian Heritage. Check website
for announcment concerning 2009-10 funding year.
- Apply online at the Young Canada Works interactive website.
- It is best to contribute some real dollars, at least between 25% to
50%.
- Lots of flexibility in the type of project.
- Must hire a student aged between 16 and 30 for summer employment.
- Student must be registered in the YCW candidate inventory.
- Deadline for applications is February 1, 2008.
