This is a b&w photograph of the original portrait, which is displayed at Uniacke Estate Museum Park. Robert Field was the best portrait painter to have worked in Halifax. Born in England circa 1769, he lived in the United States for 14 years, then Halifax from 1808 to 1816, then Jamaica until his death in 1819.
