Chair: Jamie Serran, Yarmouth County Museum and Archives The Education Committee coordinates and administers the education and professional training activities of the Council. The Committee organizes workshops on specialized topics, gives direction to the Archives Advisor, organizes the annual Spring Conference, and awards training contributions to CNSA members. The Committee offers the Core Curriculum, a suite of six workshops on the basics of archival management, and one or two intermediate level workshops per year on topics of interest to Council members. If you would like to suggest a topic for future workshops, or would like to lead a workshop on a specific topic, please contact the Committee Chair. The Council's annual Spring Conference takes place in Halifax, NS in May with two days of learning sessions, socializing, and the Annual General Meeting. It provides a forum for members to voice their concerns, learn practical skills and new ideas, and meet other archivists from across the province. Partial reimbursements for travel expenses are available to CNSA members, upon request. To plan all these activities, the Education Committee meets quarterly from September to following May, supplemented by telephone meetings when needed, and is made up of volunteer CNSA members, the chair of the Preservation Committee, and the CNSA Archives Advisor (ex-officio member).
